Brisbane and Sydney Zombie Walks 2011

A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping their way towards a local cemetery or other public space.

The Zombie walks traditionally raise money for the Brain Foundation. The Brain Foundation was established in 1970 by members of the Australian Association of Neurologists and the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia to reduce the incidence and impact of disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system through the provision of support, community education and research.

The 2011 Brisbane Zombie Walk will take place in Brisbane City on the 23rd October at 3pm, starting off at Wickham park where participants will amble their way through the city and continue through to Fortitude Valley.
The 2011 Sydney Zombie Walk will be held on Saturday October 29th at 3:30pm, starting in Hyde Park.

The walk is purely for fun and for those obsessed with the living dead who’d like to support a good cause. Everyone involved in the walk is encouraged to dress up as and act like a zombie, to the shock (and delight) of the unaware public.
